Fender American Professional Tele - 2018, upgraded w/Duncan Quarter Pounder, Phat Cat and HS pickguard, Roadrunner HSC
Here's an Excellent condition 2018 Fender American Professional Telecaster that has been upgraded to HS (70s Custom-ish spec) with Duncan Quarter Pounder in the bridge position and a Duncan Phat Cat in the neck, plus a tortise HS pickguard. Original pickups and pickguard are included. No major wear to speak of. Was well taken care of and appears to have been sparingly played. Really great guitar - the Butterscotch pops with nice grain on close inspection, and we might slightly prefer the more traditional spec of the Prof classic (this one) versus the Prof II (which we have and also love). This one does NOT include the original gigbag, but does come with a good condition Roadrunner hardshell case.
Please note: this is a consignment item and is sold as-is, no returns.
Here's what Sweetwater wrote about these when they came out:
The Fender American Professional Classic Telecaster seamlessly swerves between modern Fender playability and traditional Tele trim, offering you authentic USA-made Fender quality with a no-nonsense, performance-minded approach. This Tele’s lively alder body packs two Coastline ’63 Telecaster single-coils — pickups that embolden era-accurate, early-1960s twang with a hotter, more robust output. Next, a string-through-body “ashtray” bridge with a trio of brass saddles warms up the Tele’s treble response in the 1950s tradition. Meanwhile, Fender's staggered ClassicGear tuners combine retro style with rock-solid stability. And while several of this tremendous Tele’s specs pay tribute to the historic Fenders of yore, the neck’s slim Modern C profile, 9.5-inch fingerboard radius, and medium-jumbo frets supply an unabashedly contemporary feel beneath your fingers. Sealed with a suite of alluring finishes inspired by Fender’s golden era, the American Professional Classic Telecaster is an instrument that’ll have your back over a lifetime’s worth of gigs and sessions.
Easy-playing Modern C maple neck
Despite their stylish vintage-tinged visuals, Fender’s American Professional Classic instruments are engineered to deliver a thoroughly modern playing experience. This philosophy is abundantly apparent from the moment you grasp the American Professional Classic Telecaster’s maple Modern C neck, as it provides you with a perfect “just right” feel with a slick satin-finished sheen. Topside, this guitar’s fingerboard features a 9.5-inch fingerboard radius and 22 medium-jumbo frets — a combo that ensures even the widest upper-position bends ring loud and clear.
Updated with 21st-century twang
Fender’s Coastline ’63 Telecaster pickups start with all the usual suspects of an early-1960s-era Tele pickup — Alnico magnets, cloth-covered wire, fiber bobbins, and so on — before bringing the recipe into the 21st century with a stronger, higher-output wind. The result? A superior set of single-coils that pack all the biting twang and neck-position warmth of a true vintage Tele with a more authoritative wallop and genre-defying sonic flexibility. What's more, the addition of Fender's Greasebucket circuitry allows you to tweak your tone knob without muddying up your signal.
Vintage-spec hardware
What makes the sound of a Telecaster so singular? The pickups may clock in at the top of that list, yet scores of Sweetwater’s Tele faithful rank the model’s historic “ashtray” bridge as an equally crucial component. This American Professional Classic Telecaster’s vintage-style, string-through-body bridge fulfills that long-standing tradition with complete vintage-spec accuracy, right down to its trio of uncompensated brass saddles — a spec championed by Tele players since the early 1950s for its ability to tame the Tele’s signature high-end bite.
