Here we have this 1983-84 Fender Elite Telecaster w/Fender gigbag. These are super rad guitars that unfortunately didn't catch on upon their debut in the early 80's. The Elite series of guitars featured active electronics and Fender's own Elite pickups. As for this one, the previous owner decided to switch out the electronics, opting for some Seymour Duncan stacked single coils, as well as removing the active MDX and TBX tone controls. Also, the 3-way pickup selector switch has been switched to where one of the volume pots originally was, and the 2nd volume knob is in the selector spot (currently not wired up, just a dummy volume). Outside of that, the rest of the guitar is original to the best of our knowledge. Keep it as-is, or restore it to original - the choice is yours!
In terms of condition this guitar looks very good overall. It was definitely loved by evidence of a few dings, scratches, and some finishing blemishing as you can see in our photos (Please note: the smudge that is located on the front of the body near the arm rest). The neck has some unique wood grain on the back, but fear not, this is purely visual and does not peak through the finish. This guitar plays very well and is currently set up with a pack of Super Slinkys. No hardshell with this one, but it does come with a Fender gigbag. Overall, a quirky model with a ton of style looking for a new set of hands!
Please note: this is a consignment item and is sold as-is, no returns.
