Martin D28 - Vintage 1968, Brazilian Rosewood back/sides
Here's a Very Good+ vintage condition 1968 Martin D28, boasting the Brazilian Rosewood back and sides - one of the last years to feature this classic tone wood combo! This one shows some vintage patina, but NO BREAKS and NO NECK RESET. Action is great (.09 on bass side to .07 on treble, measured at the 13th fret with capo on first) with plenty of room on the saddle (pictured), frets are clean and level, and really - the whole instrument is darn clean. It has obviously been played, showing nicks, dings and scratches - the most notable being some top wear on the treble side between frets 15-20 (pictured), a 6-inch stretch of replaced binding on the back waste, a one inch-long POSSIBLE crack (doesn't appear to go through) near that same binding section (pictured), scratches around the rosette, and dings throughout. All that said, what really sets this one apart is how structurally sound it is. While played, it was obviously properly stored and humidified throughout its life. Has a K&K dual pickup installed (Piezo, + microphone) with end pin jack, and includes a nice Martin tolexed hardshell case which appears to be newer. Such a great guitar, someone (collector or player) will be quite happy.
