This 1986 Mesa Boogie Mark III Blue Stripe is an absolute fire breather. Here in Very Good cosmetic condition and 100% functional conditional, having just been serviced with a new set of JJ 6L6s and I THINK preamp tubes, as well. Some things to note: first off, this one has two mods - 1. a tube cooling fan installed under the chassis and 2. a Rhythm 2 volume control knob which is a must-do-mod with these 3-channel beasts as it allows you to balance the volumes between the three channels MUCH easier. I was told that both mods were factory-done, but I have no way to verify that. As part of the volume mod, they opted to remove the reverb tank and install the volume pot on the Reverb control pot versus eliminating the Direct Out jack as is the traditional method on the short chassis heads. So, NO REVERB on this one. It has an effects loop, too, which is great, but it's a bit on the noisy side in my opinion. The tone on this thing is everything you'd expect. Very nice crystal cleans. A (now) usable crunch channel. And the pride-n-joy Lead channel that just crushes, especially when you get all scoopy with the Graphic EQ. Lots of tones in this guy. No footswitch included, but does include a nice fit head cover.
