The early Ibanez history is thick over here at Guitarma! Here we have a Vintage Circa 1968 Ibanez 496 in beautiful Carmel Sunburst finish. This is a great representation of Ibanez starting to blossom as a brand of its own - still showcasing some of the primitive early Japanese stylings (pickups, bolt-on neck) but also starting to implement some more modern construction techniques - you can just FEEL the difference between this model and many of the earlier Teiscos, etc. Playability is really a cut above. And it sounds fantastic, especially with the addition of the Bigsby-ish tremolo. Here in Very Good+ vintage condition, with only a few minor dings and finish checking - the biggest cosmetic detractor are some added fret markers on the neck binding, which feel as though they could be scraped off/removed fairly easily. Includes an original (or at least period correct) chipboard hard case. This one is ready for the collector or the player. Or both!
